VW旗下最小車款Up！自2011年法蘭克福車展問世以來，成為歐洲地區都會街道上的新星。除了基本三門掀背車型外，更實用的五門車型也接連在2012年3月份登場，不過整體架構還是從既有軸距2420mm的底盤衍生而來，後座膝部空間仍相當有限，這也讓VW考慮開發長軸車型的可能性。
