洪仲丘案偵查最新進度，洪家律師邱顯智表示，542旅少將旅長沈威志已改列為被告。沈威志成為洪案被告中層級最高者。

洪家委任律師邱顯智說，沈威志是被依刑事訴訟法302條妨礙自由，及陸海空軍法45條第2項對部屬施以法定種類、限度以外之懲罰，而被列為被告。據了解，沈威志完全沒料到自己會被列為被告，所以只有4小時的時間可以找律師。

洪家日前曾表示，若沈威志沒從證人轉為被告，將會研議對沈提出鉅額的民事賠償。洪家認為洪仲丘被關禁閉前，醫院體檢身體BMI值達33（正常值為26）不能關禁閉，且士官也不能被關禁閉，沈威志竟然簽章同意送禁閉，涉案程度和副旅長何江忠程度一樣，沈應該列為被告。
